Mile Cross Primary School has an active School Council to ensure that ‘The Children’s Voice’ is represented in school policies and practices.

Each class from years one to six democratically elects two school council members each year. Year six members take on the roles of chairperson and secretary.

The School Council meets regularly to discuss a range of issues. Last year this included; school dinner choices, energy saving initiatives, Reward Trip destinations and fund-raising events.

We also, after several years of fund-raising and a generous grant from ‘Norwich Consolidated Charities’, had our reading shelter built on the playground.
